  1. ¿What is an electronic authorization?

    Electronic authorization allows Russians, Turks and Ukrainians to travel to Mexico for tourism, transit or business purposes without requiring a consular visa.


  2. Who can submit an electronic authorization?

    Russians, Turks and Ukrainians who plan to travel to Mexico for pleasure, transit or temporary business.


  3. ¿How do I apply for an electronic authorization?

    To apply for an electronic authorization, please visit: www.inami.gob.mx and click on electronic authorization, then on Submit an application. The determination of eligibility for the electronic authorization is provided immediately.


  4. Can someone else apply for me?

    Yes, a friend, relative or a travel agent may complete the application on your behalf. However, the accuracy and truthfulness of the information is traveler responsibility.


  5. Is there a fee to obtain an electronic authorization?

    Currently there is not a fee to submit an electronic authorization, though in a future a fee may be implemented as the Mexican government considers suitable.


  6. ¿If I have obtained an electronic authorization, does that mean I can enter to Mexico?

    No. SAE approval only authorizes to board a plane for traveling to Mexico without a visa. In all cases, Immigration Officers at ports of entry determine who is eligible to enter the country.


  7. Is It necessary to print out the electronic authorization approval?

    Yes, is very important to print out the electronic authorization approval and to keep it during your trip to Mexico, because you must provide it during check in and also to Immigration Officers at ports of entry.


  8. What are the possible responses to the application?
    1. Application approved: Passenger can travel to Mexico with an electronic authorization.
    2. Application denied: To travel to Mexico passenger need to obtain a visa at any Mexican consulate.

  9. Once I have obtained an electronic authorization, what may I do to travel to Mexico?

    On your flight day you must provide a printout of your electronic authorization approval at check-in desk as well as your passport.

    At ports of entry you must complete a Multiple Migratory Form (FMM) choosing tourism, business or otherss according to your travel purpose.


  10. How much time does it take for the system to process my application?

    After application is submitted online, a response will be provided immediately.


  11. How long is an electronic authorization valid?

    The electronic authorization is valid for 30 days since issue date.


  12. The electronic authorization is susceptible to be renewed?

    No, once the electronic authorization is expired, you must submit a new application.


  13. How many times can I entry to Mexico with an electronic authorization?

    Electronic authorization is valid only for one trip to Mexico.


  14. How many electronic authorizations can I get?

    You can obtain as many electronic authorizations as needed.


  15. What happen if my application is denied?

    If you plan to travel to Mexico you must obtain a visa at any Mexican consulate. For further information, please contact to the Mexican Embassy at your country.


  16. If I made a mistake in my personal information can I correct it?

    Once an application is submitted, any data cannot be changed. In this case, you must submit another application with the correct data. Make you sure of the accuracy and truthfulness of the data before submitting an application.


  17. I hold a valid Mexican visa; must I apply for an electronic authorization?

    No, holders of valid visas do not required to obtain an electronic authorization to travel to Mexico.


  18. I am Russian, I do not hold a Mexican visa and I am planning to visit Mexico for pleasure, ¿Can I apply for an electronic authorization?

    Yes, you can file an application to obtain an electronic authorization to travel to Mexico, no matter the airline. At ports of entry you must complete a Multiple Migratory Form (FMM).


  19. Is the electronic authorization available for others nationalities or routes?

    No, the electronic authorization is valid only for Russians, Turks and Ukrainians travelling to Mexico, no matter the airline, for transit, tourism or business purposes.
