Obtaining the Border Worker Visitor Card

This is applicable to nationals from Guatemala and Belize who are 16 years of age or older, have an offer of employment and apply for the status of border working visitor.

Requirements

The documents (applications) for the procedures must be submitted in original only, and their annexes, in copy. If the interested party requires an acknowledgement of receipt, she/he must attach a copy for that purpose. (Article 15 A section I of the Administrative Procedure Federal Act).

1.	Guatemalan nationals must present the identity card, the personal identification document, the document that has replaced the previous ones, passport or identity and travel document, valid and current. Original and copy.
1.	In the case of minors, a birth certificate must be presented, whose issue date is not older than six months. Original and copy.
2.	Nationals from Belize must present a valid and current passport or identity and travel document. Original and copy.
3.	Job offer in free letter signed by the employer or by his legal representative, who has previously obtained proof of employer registration. Original.
3.	The letter must indicate the integrated wage or minimum wage to be paid to the foreign national, the occupation to be performed, the required period of employment, the place of work and the details of the employer's registration certificate.
4.	Proof of payment of corresponding rights in terms of the Federal Law of fees. Original and copy.
5.	Nationals from Guatemala or Belize who are over 16 and under 18 years of age, accompanied by a third party or traveling alone, will present, in addition to the indicated requirements, a document stating the authorization to work in national territory and leave it granted by the persons who exercise parental authority or guardianship over them before a notary public or contain certification from a Justice of the Peace. Original and copy.
6.	In the case of the spouse or common-law husband of the beneficiary subject, or of their minor children or those subject to legal representation, or of the children of the spouse or common-law husband or common-law wife of the beneficiary subject, as long as they are minors, it must be Present a document that proves the Family Relationship and those indicated in numerals 1, 2 and 4. Original and copy.

Important:

Foreign public documents, with the exception of the passport or identity and travel document, must be apostilled or legalized and, where appropriate, accompanied by a translation into Spanish prepared by officially recognized experts as appropriate.
The application is submitted in the points designated for the international land transit of persons in the states of Chiapas, Quintana Roo and Tabasco.
The border worker visitor card is valid for 1 year, allows multiple entries and exits during its validity, as well as transit, stay and perform paid activities in the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Tabasco and Quintana Roo.
The persons who obtain the border worker visitor's card must identify themselves with it, and enter and leave the national territory only through the land points authorized for the international transit of persons along the southern border of Mexico.
The border worker visitor who wishes to enter beyond the federal entities authorized to carry out unpaid activities, must obtain, prior compliance with the requirements, a visitor visa without permission to carry out paid activities.
Applicants for this migration status may request the entry of their spouse, cohabiting partner or equivalent figure, and their children when they are minors or adolescents under their legal representation, or when they are of legal age, but are in a state of interdiction and are under their legal representation, and can prove a family relationship.
The immigration authority will interview the foreign person to provide biographical information and will collect through electronic means the information contained in the basic format, consisting of:
1. Image of face
2. Fingerprints of all five fingers (thumb, index, middle, ring, and little finger) of both hands
3. Iris image
4. Digital signature

Important:

Foreign nationals shall not pay fees for services when the type of work or service to be performed is remunerated at the equivalent of the daily or monthly value of the Unidad de Medida y ActualizaciÃ³n (Measurement and Update Unit ).

Confirm that it corresponds to the type of procedure requested.

Register the full names and surnames exactly as they appear in the document with which the foreign national is identified in the Application (Regardless of the number of names and surnames).

In the case of minors, the payment must be registered with the names and surnames of the minors.

It is suggested to review exhaustively the payment receipts issued by the banking institutions, so that there is no error in the person's identification data.
Follow-up Procedure

If your application was pending on the day it was submitted, you will be able to track it with the email address you entered on the application, have your application number and password that was sent to you electronically at hand.
